Kathavachak Devkinandan Thakur Reaction On Mamata Banerjee Bangladesh Remark Says Give Shelter To Hindus | ‘If you want to give shelter, give it to Hindus’, Devkinandan Thakur’s retort on Mamata Banerjee’s statement, said

Devkinandan Thakur On Mamata Banerjee: On Sunday (21 July), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said about the violence happening in Bangladesh that if people from the neighbouring country knock at their door, they will be given shelter. Regarding this, famous storyteller Devkinandan Thakur said that if they have to give shelter, then give it to Hindus. If people from there are given shelter, it will affect the number of people of other religions.

He said, “The country for whose freedom thousands of brave sons have sacrificed their lives, that same country is being pushed towards slavery once again by some people sitting on constitutional posts. Warning has already been issued regarding the decreasing population of Sanatanis and now people coming from Bangladesh are being given shelter here, which is sure to have a direct impact on the population of other religions. This country belongs to Hindus first and foremost, if anyone has to be given shelter, give it to Sanatanis and not to non-Hindu people.”

BJP targeted Mamta Banerjee

Apart from this, BJP targeted the Chief Minister of West Bengal and said that she is justifying infiltration in the state. BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, ‘Only the central government has the right to give shelter to anyone. The state government cannot take a decision on this. She is opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act. This is the same law that gives citizenship to people persecuted in neighboring countries. In this way, she wants to help the infiltrators by giving them shelter.’

What did Mamata Banerjee say?

While addressing a rally organised on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day in Bengal, the TMC chief had said, “I will not say anything about Bangladesh because it is another country and the central government will take care of it. If the helpless (from Bangladesh) knock on the door of Bengal, we will give them shelter. There is also a UN proposal regarding this. Neighbours will respect refugees.”
